March Vacation

Cabin in Kearney  [reservation site]

Nathan,
Thank you for reserving the cabin for March 24 and 25!

Here are some additional details for you:
CABIN instructions:
Located at 2280 29 Road, Kearney, NE 68847

Upon arriving at the end of our drive way, per the map provided online, you will see a “cabin” sign, and as you head north up the drive you will see additional “cabin” signs that will lead you to the parking area and stepping stone path to the cabin (which is lit by solar lights at night). Basically you make a big half circle through the yard and the last sign says “Cabin” “Parking”. You will drive on the grass for the last few yards.

The key to the cabin will be in the door when you arrive and you can just leave it on the counter when you check out. We generally do not “meet and greet” our guests but you are certainly more than welcome to give us a call when you arrive if you prefer to meet us. There is a “handbook” in the cabin on the desk that is generally worth a quick read. For example, it tells you that there are three alarms in the cabin – smoke detector, propane sensor, and septic alarm.

The one handy suggestion I make to everyone is to stagger their showers. The cabin unit came with a small hot water heater (and no room for a large one!) so waiting a few minutes or so between showers will assure everyone of a hot shower. One thing about it being smaller, it heats up very fast. This has not been an issue for our guests -- but I want you to know of it.

Everything is ready when you arrive. Towels, soap, coffee, linens, and a few things like that are there and ready for your use. There is also a first aid kit in the bathroom – which I hope no one has to use! A lantern is provided, too. The tap water is safe to drink. There is also a gas grill at the cabin and all that we ask is that if you use it that you clean it up for the next guest. And, if you need fishing poles, etc., we have them available upon request.

We do have guests leaving directly before you … thus, I'll ask that you adhere to the check in time of approx. 3:00 so I can get in the cabin and have it thoroughly cleaned for you before you arrive. At this time, there isn't anyone arriving the day you check out, so you can stay past the noon check out time (as late as 4:00) -- IF this should change, I'll will let you know. We try to be as flexible as possible with checkout and check in times.

Lastly, we do have two farm dogs and they are to be penned or in our home while guests are at the cabin, but if they should get out or be loose, they are both friendly – “Zoe” and “Zeke". However, Zeke is a big black dog and can be intimidating and finds little kids too fascinating! Again, they should not be out of their pen or near the cabin during the day but I want you to know of them. We do let them out in the evening as they keep the deer – or at least most of them – out of the yard around our home.

If there is anything – at all – that you need while at the cabin, do not hesitate to call my cell phone: 308-440-1045 at any time. We want you to truly enjoy your stay.

I ask that you acknowledge this email, too, so I know you have received this information.
