Reinhart O. (Sport) Schlichenmayer  --  1977

     Funeral services for Reinhart O. Schlichenmayer were officiated by Rev.  Howard Jacobson at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Monday, May 23 at 1:30 p.m.
       Casket bearers were Roy Schlichenmayer, Wilford Adolf, Ronald Weiss, Tom Schlichenmayer, Glenn Adolf and Eugene Weiss with interment in the Immanuel Cemetery. Organist Karen Ziegler accompanied the men's quartet.
       Reinhart Otto (Sport) Schlichenmayer, son of Jacob and Christain Bertling Schlichenmayer was born near Yale Aug. 9, 1903 and baptized Oct. 25 of that year.  Confirmed April 14, 1918, he remained a member all his life of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
      June 29, 1935, he was wed to Anna Weiss and to this union were born six children; one son, Ray, preceded him in death 15 years ago.
     "Sport" enjoyed farming and his cattle.
      He leaves in mourning his wife, Anna, of the home; Geraldine Carter and Phyllis Hall of North Bend, Ore.; Lee Schlichenmayer of Kanorado; Dale Schlichenmayer of Burlington; Linda Coles of Eatontown, N.J., and 15, grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
      Also, sisters Alvina Stutz of Denver and Leona Henry of Elizabeth; brothers John, Teffleld (Shorty) and Harold of Burlington and Sechart (Stub) of Stratton; a host of relatives and friends.
      "Sport" passed away Friday, May 20, 2 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver following surgery, from which he recovered but relapsed after two heart attacks May 19.   He was 73 years, 9 months and 10 days old.
