Mabel Adolf    2004

      Mabel Leona Adolf was born March 23, 1922 to Jacob and Emma (Stutz) Gramm in Bethune. Mabel met her Savior Monday, June 14, 2004 in Greeley. She was 82 years, 2 months and 22 days old.  Mabel grew up in the Bethune/Burlington area and attended 10 years of school in Bethune. She married Gottlieb E. Adolf July 10, 1938 and to this union two children, James and Elva, were born.

      Mabel was a very devoted wife and mother. She loved her church, family and friends. She loved sewing for the church and playing cards and calling Bingo at The Legacy with her friends She also loved helping with driving them to and from places they needed to go. Mabel also loved making quilts for the church and her family. Mabel was also known as the "Avon Lady" for many years, always with a smile.

      Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Gottlieb, her parents Jacob and Emma Gramm, her brothers Art and Albert, sister Ester, and great-granddaughter Amy Adolf. She is survived by her son Jim and hive wife Rosalie, a daughter Elva Cooper and her husband Jack, five grandsons - Doug Adolf and his wife Simone, Jason Adolf and his wife Carrie, Cory Adolf and his wife Kami, Lance Bartholomew, and Nick Cooper and one granddaughter Laura Colsen. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren - Josiah, William and Sheri Adolf, Isabella Adolf, Kari Batholomew and Treyton Colsen. Brothers-in-law George Wiedman and Ernie Schick, sisters-in-law Irene Adolf and Helen Gramm also survive her. Mabel will be greatly missed by her son and his family, her daughter and her family, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

      Services for Mabel were held Friday, June 18, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Burlington. Pastor Bill Viergutz officiated the services and burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Burlington. Visitation for Mabel was held on Thursday, June 17 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Burlington.

      Memorials for Mabel may be made to First St. Paul's Church and many be left at the Bank of Burlington. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Love Funeral Home, Burlington.
