Martin Stahlecker  --  1970

   Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, for Martin Stahlecker, 70, of Rocky Ford who died Tuesday morning of injuries suffered in a fall at Stauffer Food Co. where he was working part time. Pastor Henry Knoke officiated at the services held at St. Peters Lutheran Church. Music was provided by Mrs. Bill Goebel and Mrs. Kenneth Breibenfeld, vocalists and Miss Susie Saulmon at the organ.

    Pall bearers were Harvey Saulmon, Ron Snartland, Fred Schafer, Glenn Stahlecker, Russel Stahlecker, Dean Stahlecker and Robbie Stahlecker.  Burial was in Rocky Ford Cemetery with Ustick Funeral Home in charge.

    Martin Stahlecker was born at Bethune on Nov. 25, 1899 to John and Maria Stahlecker.  He was married to Freda Bauder in 1925.  They moved to Alamosa in 1926 and to Rocky Ford in 1943.  Mr. Stahlecker was engaged in farming and carpentry.  He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Rocky Ford.

    Proceeding him in death were his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

   He is survived by his wife  Freda; 3 sons, Ervin of Rocky Ford, Robert of Dothan, Ala., and Elmer of Stanhope, N.J.; 1 daughter, Mrs. Bill (Vera Mae) Buecher of Pueblo; 11 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Andrew of Hooper and Walter of Rangely; 5 sisters, Mrs. Mary Kramer of Burlington, Mrs. John Adolf, Mrs. William Kramer and Mrs. Lydia Adolf, all of Bethune and Mrs. Dorothy Klein of Rocky Ford.
