Leah ADOLF Schick -- 2003

   Leah Barbara Schick died Oct. 31, 2003, at the Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Denver. She was 86.
   She was born Jan. 24, 1917, to Gottlieb and Barbara (Stahlecker) Adolf Sr. She grew up in the Bethune area, where she attended school through the eighth-grade. She married Ernest Schick on Jan. 7, 1938.
   She played saxophone, sang in the choir and played the piano at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing, crafts, gardening, camping, traveling and playing cards.
Survivors include: husband Ernest; son Dean of Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; daughters, Barbara Briggs of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Marilyn Tafoya of Denver; half brother George Wiedman of Burlington, Colo.; aunt Nettie Hasart; numerous nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Herman and Gottlieb; sister Ella; son-in-law Fred Tafoya and sister-in-law Leona Wiedman.
   A funeral service was held Nov. 5 at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington, Colo.
