Gottlieb Beringer, son of Mr and Mrs Christian Beringer was born December 13, 1887 in Bergdorf South Russia. In his infancy he was brought to the Lord in Holy Baptism and made a child of God and heir to eternal life. After due instruction in the Word of God, he renewed this convenent with his God through the act of confirmation in the Lutheran faith on March 30, 1903 in Bergdorf.

On October 12, 1903 he came to America with his parents and made his home near Eureka South Russia. In 1915 he came to St. Francis Kansas. On January 13 1916 he was united in marriage with Katie Zweygardt, to which union three children were born; two daughters and one son. He was engaged in farming until he moved to St Francis in February 1947. He was an active and faithful member of the Salem Lutheran Church.

Mr Beringer had been in fairly good health throughout his life. He underwent several operations this past year, the last one at Kearney Neb on Sept 15. He was getting along quite well until Wednesday afternoon when he suffered a heart attack and departed this life at 3 p.m. His sudden departure was a great shock to the family and the entire community. He attained the age of 76 years 10 months and 21 days.

Survivor include: his bereaved wife, two daughters, Emilia (Mrs Reuben Meyer) Bethune Colo; Clara (Mrs Clord Meyer) Bethune Colo; one son, Edwin of St Francis; one sister, Rosa Flohr of Greeley Colo; and eight grand-children, and other relatives and friends.

Services were held at the Salem Lutheran Church, Sunday, November 8, 1964 at 2:30 p.m., with Rev A Schempp in charge. Interment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery.
