Catherina Dobler Strobel -- 1956
Catherina Strobel, daughter of Christian Dobler and Dora nee Handel, was born November 6, 1868 in Bessarabia, Russia. She came to this country in January 1881 with her parents who lived first at Scotland, South Dakota, before taking up a homestead in the vicinity of Bethune, Colorado in 1890. Shew as married to Jacob Strobel January 8, 1893 and their union was blessed with four sons and one daughter. Her daughter, later Mrs. Jack Schaal, passed away October 13, 1936. Mother Strobel was a faithful member of Hope Congregational Church and its Ladies Aid and Missionary Society. She remained active in her Savior's work to her end. She was called home to her reward September 17, 1956 at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 11 days. Among her survivors are her husband , her life's companion for nearly 60 years, four sons, one of whom being Reverend Theodore Strobel of Lodi, California, and a host of friends who all miss her.
