Ted Bauer --  1957

     Funeral services for Theodore G. Bauer, 43, were held at the Immanuel's Lutheran church in the Settlement Wednesday afternoon, April 4, with the Rev. A. F. Boese officiating.  Burial was in the Settlement cemetery. 
        Mr. Bauer died of a heart attack while operating a tractor last Thursday.  He was working near Worland, Wyo., when the fatal attack struck.  Mr. Bauer had been working at Worland in the wintertime, and farming north of Bethune in the summer. 
        Born Jan. 13, 1914, Mr. Bauer had been a life-long resident of the Settlement. 
        Survivors include his wife, Lillie May; twin sons, Eugene and Chester, and Michael, and a step daughter, Lucille Kramer, of Sterling.  Brothers and sisters who survive are Albert, August, Martin and Edward Bauer; Anna Wynkopp, Theresa Hooker, Mary Degering, Tillie Mitchell.  His mother and father preceded him in death. 


     Theodore Gotthilf Bauer, age 43, passed away suddenly, March 28, 1957; while at work on a farm near Worland, Wyo.  He was born Jan. 13, 1914, at Bethune.  He was united in marriage to Lilly Mae Elliott, Aug. 16, 1947, in Worland. 
        He lived at Bethune until he was called to serve his country in 1942.  He returned to Bethune in 1945 after his service for his country was completed.  In August, 1955, after drought forced him to leave his far, he went to Worland, and resided there until his death. 
       He is survived by his wife, Lily Mae, of Worland; three sons, also of Worland, and a daughter at Sterling; two sisters:  Ann Wynkoop of San Juan, Calif., Theresa Hooker of Kanorado; three brothers:  August of Norway, Albert of Burlington, and Edward of Denver; three half sisters:  Tillie Mitchell of Ontario, Calif., Mary Degering, Stratton, Christina Schlichenmayer of Bethune; three half brothers:  Martin Bauer of Burlington, Andrew Hayne of Arizona, Fred Hayne of Spokane, Wash., and two step-grandchildren. 
        He will be sadly missed by his relatives and friends.  His body was laid to rest at the Bethune Lutheran cemetery, the Rev. A. F. Boese, local pastor, officiating. 
        Pallbearers were Danny Bauer, Walter Bauer, Richard Bauer, Leon Hooker, James Schlichenmayer and Verle Billenwillms.
