Lillie Bamesberger Fanselau  --  1978

       Final services for Lillie Dorothea Fanselau were Monday, June 5, 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Wayne Mesecher, officiating.
       Mrs. Fanselau, who died Wednesday, May 31, in Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital at the age of 85, was interring in Fairview Cemetery.
       Casket bearers were Rudy Schaal, George Hubbard, Buster Jenkins, George Wells, Ernie Schick and Frank Seelhoff and organist Jean Diekman accompanied Don Monasmith, who sang "Rock of Ages" and "Saved by Grace".
       Lillie Bamesberger Fanselau was born in Denver Feb. 18, 1893.  She was baptized and later confirmed her faith in Immanuel Lutheran Church, north of Bethune, where she grew up.
       April 14, 1912, she joined her life in holy matrimony to Henry A. Fanselau and the two of them homesteaded 20 miles southeast of Burlington where they resided until 1935, at which time they moved to Newberg, Ore.
       In 1942 they returned to the Bethune-Burlington area, where she lived until her death.  Mrs. Fanselau lived the last five years of her life in the Burlington Rest Home.
       Lillie was a devout Christian and faithfully attended church as long as her health permitted.  She was an active member of the Ladies' Mission Society for many years.
       She is survived by her husband, Henry, of Grace Manor Nursing Home; daughters Mildred Viola Stahlecker and Leona Gertrude Wiedman of Burlington and Geneva Eleanora Wohlgemuth of Vancouver, Wash.; brother Amos Holland of Loveland; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
