Emma Weiss- 1973

       Emma (Gramm) Weiss was born at Yale Feb. 23, 1892, to Fredrick and Marie Stutz. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church north of Bethune and was married to Jacob Gramm Aug. 6, 1911. To this union were born four children, two of whom died in infancy.
       Emma was preceded in death by her husband Jacob, June 26, 1932. For several years she lived in Grand Junction and Englewood, moving back to Burlington in 1968. In November of 1972, she married John Weiss; shortly afterwards they moved to San Diego, Calif. Following a lengthy illness she passed away July 11 in the naval hospital at Long Beach, Calif.
       Survivors include her son, Arthur Gramm of Pueblo; daughter, Mabel Adolf of Burlington; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; three sisters; Lydia Gramm of Stratton, Minnie Hammelman of Lincoln, Neb. and Martha Schlichenmayer of Burlington and one brother, William Stutz of Denver.
       Funeral services for Mrs. Weiss were held July 15 at the Hope United Church of Christ with Rev. Ruben Issak officiating. Song selections, "How Great Thou Art: and "My God and I," were sung by Sandee and Roland Strobel accompanied at the organ by Doloris Dobler. Casket bearers were Dave Corliss, Elmer Dobler, Roland Schlichenmayer, Jim Adolf, Lawrence Gramm and Ralph Stahlecker. Interment was made in the Hope Cemetery, Bethune.
