David E. Boll-2002
Stratton, Colorado resident David E.
Boll, 89, died Sunday, Jan. 2002, at the Burlington Care Center in Burlington.
Mr. Boll was born March 25, 1912, at School Creek, Neb. He was the son of
Karolina (Schlichenmayer) and Fred Boll.
David worked hard as a young boy helping care for his
family. At the age of 30 years, he was called to serve his country in W. W. II.
He served in the United States Army where he received the American Theater
Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Ribbon. David was
honorably discharged on Dec. 6, 1945. While in the service, David helped in the
design of a tail wing for a military aircraft.
After the service, David spent 20 plus years working as
a finance agent for G.M.A.C. Davis is remembered by family and friends as
a very caring man. He always enjoyed working on and talking about automobiles of
all types. He also was interested and liked to keep up on historical events and
times.
David was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, north
of Bethune. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Elsie and Inez; one
bother, Harold, and an infant brother, Lorenz. Surviving David is a
half-brother, Ewald Boll, or Oregon; and many loving nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Funeral services for David were Thursday, Jan. 10,
2002, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bethune. Pastor Wesley Dunbar,
officiating. Burial followed at the church's cemetery. Musical selections
were provided by Denis Stahlecker, accompanied by Velda Adolf.
Casket bearers were Ruben Feikert, Dave
Schlichenmayer, Douglas Kramer, Laverne Boll, Lester Schlichenmayer and Robert
Kramer. Honorary bearers were Kent Schlichenmayer, Dean Elliott, Debra
Elliott, Donna Duger and Linda Flim. Memorials maybe made in his
name to the church and left at The Bank of Burlington. Love Funeral Home,
Burlington handled the arrangements. |
