Henry Klein - 2005

             Henry Taylor Klein was born to Maudie Watkins Klein and John Klein in Cooper, Texas, on Jan. 13, 1911. Henry passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, in Wray, where he and wife Dorothea have resided for the past nine years.
             Henry spent most of his formative years living with his family in Cordell, Oklahoma and attended school in Dill City, Okla. He was the third of five children born to Maudie and John and at age 14, Henry was baptized at the Southern Baptist Church in Cordell, Okla. In 1930, Henry married Murl Blair and had two children, Dortha and Henry Jr. (Buzzer).
             On Sept. 26, 1940, Henry married Dorothea C. Stahlecker in Taos, N.M. To this union, three children were born. Shirley Jean was born in 1943, Robert Dean in 1945 and Betty Rae in 1948. Henry loved driving trucks and hauled everything from lumber; logs, livestock and mobile homes. He-also served on the Rocky Ford, Colorado Police Department for 2 years. He had a ,strong passion for vehicle mechanics and in the years after his retirement he spent immeasurable hours tinkering with his favorite old cars.
            Henry was preceded in death by his father, - John; mother, Maudie; brothers Lester (Buster), infant Weldon, Lawson and young sister Lillian; daughter Dortha and son Henry, Jr. and grandson Martin Mitchell.
            He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothea - children Shirley (Leonard) Hannebaum, Robert (Beverly) Klein and Betty Matthews; grandchildren Leonard Dean Hannehaum, Marzie (Wayne) Meyer, Chad (Carla) Matthews, Jeffrey (Marcy) Matthews, Vic (Melinda) Klein, Rick (Rosanne) Klein, Ron Klein and Greg (Mary) Mitchell.   Great-grandchildren Blake and Brent Meyer, Cody and Austin Hannebaum, Joshua, John and Anna Klein and Mila and Keith Mitchell; son-in-law Everett Mitchell; three sisters in-law and many loving nephews and nieces also survive him.
            Graveside inurnment services will be held at the Hope Congregational Church Cemetery; 40981 CR GG, in Kit Carson County, 11 miles north a 1 mile east of Bethune, Colorado, on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. Pastor Carl Rogers will be officiating.
