Anna Marie Stolz -1953

        Anna Marie Stahlecker was born Oct. 24, 1915, at Bethune, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Stahlecker. She grew up on a farm northwest of Bethune and spent her entire life in the Settlement territory. She was baptised [sic] at an early age in Immanuel's
Lutheran church and was confirmed on March 29, 1931. On June 8, 1933, she was united in marriage to Paul R. Stolz. To this union five children were born, three boys and two girls, of which one girl preceeded [sic] her in death.
        Anna's life was marked by considerable hardship. At the age of eight, she suffered an attack of infantile paralysis which confined her to the home of her parents for the greater part of two years. Although this left her weak and susceptible to other illnesses and ailments, the years showed improvement in her health and she was able to enjoy life as a good wife and mother.  After surgery in the late part of 1952, it became apparent that her days on this earth were numbered. She declined steadily and suffered much pain until her death on March 31, 1953, at the age of 37 years, 5 months and 7 days.
        Left to mourn her demise are her husband, Paul; three sons, Vernon, Philip, and Ralph; and one daughter, Diane. An infant daughter, Paulette Joyce, proceeded her in death a short time ago and was laid to rest on March 22, 1953. Surviving also are her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Stahlecker of Loveland: four brothers, Otto Stahlecker of Berthoud, William Stahlecker of Bethune, Gottlieb Stahlecker of Loveland, and John Stahlecker of Platteville; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Adolf of Bethune, Mrs. Reinhold Weiss and Mrs. Albert Stolz, both of Loveland: and numerous other relatives and a host of friends that will miss her.  Rev. L. C. Johnson conducted the funeral services which were. held at the Immanuel Lutheran church in the Settlement on Friday, April 3. Interment was at Immanuel's cemetery.
