Wagner-Kramer Wedding on New Years Day Having paddled his canoe until he was twenty-six years of age, Edd Kramer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kramer, Sr., thought it wise to take unto himself "a help meet [sic]". Such a one he found in Miss Lottie Wagner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wagner. The wedding ceremony took place on the first day of the year 1919 in the Ev. Lutheran Church, at six o'clock p.m. Rev. Drinkgern, pastor of the congregation officiated. Miss Bertha Kramer, sister of the groom acted as maid of honor, Jacob Wagner, Jr. as best man, Misses Marie Geringer and Lena Delventhal as bridesmaids, Herman Kramer and John Wagner as groomsmen and Esther Obermeyer and Frieda Wagner as flower girls. After the ceremony about one-hundred and twenty guests were received at the bridegroom's home for a reception. Practically everything desirable as to east and drinks was available. At about two o'clock in the morning of the second day of the new year, everybody left for their homes, wishing the newly-weds a happy New Year. |
