I have this photo listed as the Fred and Minnie Stahlecker family. Where? Children? But when I look at the family chart the names don't match. (Fred/Jacobine or Gottlieb/Minnie). Have you seen this one before? Carolyn

The photo I sent earlier of John Weiss, yes, would be the son of Carl. I'm going to send some newspaper articles of the family. Looking at Caroline's funeral service notice, there was a Carl Weiss as a pall bearer. The only Carl in the Weiss line, that I can find would have been the son of Martin / Lydia. Do you have any info about him?

 

 

 

 

 

Hi Carolyn: Thanks for the great information. I've been working on cross referencing information on the Settlement people from the 1910 census and it's proven to be very helpful. I take it you have the 1900 and the 1920 census as well???? I've thought about ordering these, but if you have them -- would you be willing to share them with me? I'm finding that I've been have some problems piecing together all the wonderful information you've been sending. What I need to do is to start to focus on a few of these families and make sure I get the information straight and find out were your information ends on each of these lines.

My first questions are about John Weiss.

In the last paragraph in the email below you confirmed that John was the son of Karl. In previous emails, you send photos of a John Weiss. Can I assume that these are all the same person? (See the page for John Weiss at http://www.nathankramer.com/settle/bios/1280.htm ) I've posted the photos you send, but I'm not sure if this is correct.

Also about John Weiss -- Was his wife named Bertha (based on the wedding photo of Bertha and John)? What was Bertha's maiden name. Was John later married to Emma Stutz?? Do you have dates for John?? Who was John's mother -- Apolonia JUENGLING or Katherine STADEL. Did John have any children?

 

You also made note of "Caroline's funeral service notice," -- which Caroline is this?? Was that Karoline JANKE Schmidke (wife of John SCHMIDKE, Jr.)?? I'll look a little more for other Carls of that age, but I think you are correct.
