Alice (Bauder) Haygood  --  2004

Alice B. Haygood, 94, wend to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004. Alice was born Jan. 16, 1910 on a farm near Bethune that her parents Fred and Minnie Fanselau Bauder had homesteaded.  Alice graduated high school in Burlington in 1928 and finished her education as a registered nurse in 1932 at Beth-El in Colorado Springs.  After several years of nursing at various places including Denver, Chicago, Casper and Cheyenne, Wyo., she met Lawrence F. Haygood of Cheyenne, Wyo., who was a fireman and later and engineer on the Union Pacific Railroad.  Following work on the railroad they were married in San Bernadino, Calif.  They went to Las Vegas, Nev. in 1937 and lived there continuously since 1941.  Living in Cliente for a while.  Alice worked as a nurse in Las Vegas, quitting to raise her children, after which she returned to work at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital now UMC until her retirement in 1968.

Lawrence, a past master of Las Vegas 32 Masonic Lodge and Alice, a member of the Eastern star spent many happy years attending Masonic and various church functions until Lawrence's death in February of 2001.  Alice and Larry were longtime members of the First United Methodist Church and also Christian seniors.  She leaves behind her son, Robert "Bob" F. Haygood; daughter Karenlee Gilbert; four grandsons, Robert "Robby" E. and William "Billy" Haygood, David and Gary Gilbert; two granddaughters, Nicole Gardner and Nancylee Haygood; Six great-grandsons, Andrew, Austin, and Nathanial Gardner, Dillan and Devin Gettrost and Gage Gilbert, all of Las Vegas.  She was also preceded in death by her parents Fred and Minnie Bauder, one sister Rosina Schaal, two brothers Paul and Albert Bauder.  Alice will truly be missed by her family as she was deeply loved by all.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 Main St. Interment immediately followed services at Palm Memorial Park-Las Vegas.  Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Downtown.

Alice B. Haygood, 94, of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004. She was born Jan. 16, 1910 in Bethune, Colo, and was a resident of Las Vegas since 1938. Alice was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church. Alice is survived by her son, Bob Haygood of Las Vegas; daughter, Karenlee Gilbert of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Interment immediately following service at Palm Memorial Park-Las Vegas. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Downtown.
