Hilda Ziegler  --  1956

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, June 4, for Mrs. Fred Ziegler, 37, who passed away at the Memorial hospital Saturday evening.  Rev. A. F. Boese officiated at the services, held at the Immanuels Lutheran church in the Settlement.  Burial was in Fairview cemetery, Burlington.
Pallbearers were Edwin Beringer, St. Francis, Kan.; Emil and Edwin Ziegler, Tripp, S.D.; Albert Weiss, John Schritter, Bud Stolz, all of the community.
Hilda Wolff, daughter of George and Rozina Wolff, was born March 24, 1919, at Eureka, S.D.  She was received into the Kingdom of God in infancy thru the sacrament of holy baptism.
From Eureka, the family moved to St. Francis, Kan.  From St. Francis they moved to Tribune, Kan.; from Tribune they moved to Greeley.  It was here where the deceased confessed her faith on the day of her confirmation at the age of 14 years.
In 1936 the family moved to a farm northwest of Burlington.  Here she met Fred Ziegler, whom she married on June 6, 1937.  This union was blessed with three children;  Geraldine Ann, age 18; Delmer Eugene, age 14; and Fredrick Dewayne, age 9.  She leaves to mourn her sudden departure, her grief stricken husband, the three above mentioned children; her mother, Mrs. Rozina Schultz of Greeley; two sisters, Ida Isernhagen of Fort Collins, Emma Bruntz, of Kersey; one half-sister, Clara Knaub, of La Salle, and two half-brothers, Reuben Schultz, of Greeley, and Ben Schultz of Vancouver, Wash.; four step-sisters and one step-brothers, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
The deceased had not been feeling well for some time, but last Wednesday night, May 30, she suddenly took for the worse, and taken to the Memorial hospital, where an exploratory operation was performed.  She passed away on Saturday evening, June 2, at about 7:00, reaching the age of 37 years.
