Edna Konrad Dobler -- 1988
Edna Dobler passed away Nov. 9 at the home
of her son Allen and family at Seneca, Mo. after a 6-month illness.
Graveside services were held on Nov. 12 with her
nephew, Rev. Allan Conrad of Holstein, Neb. officiating. A
men's quartet including Rev. Ted Meter, Dalwon Schaal, Art Strobel
and Wilford Adolf sang, "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art".
Interment war, beside her husband John at Hope Cemetery north of Bethune.
Edna Christina, daughter of David Konrad and Theresa
Mogck, was born on a farm near Kulm, N.D. on March 14, 1909. She
was married to John Fred, son of John Dobler and Magdalene Stutz, on May
3, 1931 in LaMoure County, N.D.
In 1945 their only child Allan John, came to them
by adoption. The family farmed and ranched northwest of Burlington
until the couple moved into Burlington in retirement.
Edna's husband John died Oct. 26, 1981. Keeping
her home in Burlington, Edna spent some time living with her son in Alberta,
Canada. Due to poor health, Edna eventually joined her son and family when
they moved to Seneca, Mo. Death ended Edna's journey here on earth
on the morning of Nov. 9 1989. Her burial was beside her husband
at the Hope Cemtery north of Bethune.
Preceding her in death arc her parents, David and
Theresa; brothers and sisters, Anna, Helma, Richard, Edward and Elmer;
and husband John. Surviving her are brother Wilbert Konrad of Keno,
Ore.; sister Theresa Byers of Sacramento, Calif.; and half-sister Della
Stringbam of San Mateo, Calif.; her son and family, Allan and Virginia,
Reance, Dianne, Darla, Karleen and Lance
