Frieda Augustina (Adolf) Weisshaar-2003
Freida was the last of 11 children
born to William and Margaret Bufink-Adolf. She was born Aug. 17, 1911, at
Bethune. She was baptized on Aug. 19, 1911, confirmed April12, 1925, and married
to William Weisshaar on Oct. 8, 1929, all at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Three sons -- Junior, Gene and Dennis, and one daughter, Eileen, were born to
Bill and Frieda. In 1942, they left their farm in the settlement and
started in the grocery business, first at the Brownwood store north of Vona and
in 1943 they opened Weisshaar Cash Store in Idalia. In 1953 they moved to
Yuma and opened the Yuma Show Store where they enjoyed a good business and made
many friends. In 1974 Bill and Frieda returned to Burlington to enjoy
their retirement near their roots. Frieda was preceded
in death by nice of her siblings; her husband Bill; and her son-in-law, Paul
Rheuark. One sister, Nettie Hasart of Grace Manor, and all of Frieda's
descendants survive her and are honored to be a part of her life. Junior
of Idalia and Jerry (Summer) Weisshaar's family includes Dale and Trenda and
children Dan, Erin, and Megan; Judy and Ed Rusher and children Amy and
Jeff; Jody and Bob Pennington and children Cody and Roxanne. Eileen and
Paul Rheuark's family includes Mary and Peter Goodman and children Alexis,
Jessica, Shannon, and Rebecca; John and Marilyn and son Sean; Tina and Jim
Criswell and children Melissa and Wesley. Gene and Kathy (Sanders)
Weisshaar's family includes 3 daughters -- Steffanie Manes, Sarah, and Brenda,
as well as Steffanie's children Jessica and Alex. Frieda
is known to hundreds as a loyal disciple of her Lord and went to her heavenly
rest on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003. Services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran
Church in Burlington on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, with interment at St. John's in
Idalia. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Love Funeral Home of
Burlington. |
