Alma Wahl Abener Tate died Jan 3, 1982 at Coeur d’Alene, ID following an illness. She was born on July 29, 1906 at Burlington, Colorado to William and Katherine (Adolf) Wahl. She was raised in Odessa. She married Ted Abener in Bellingham. She taught school in Tacoma and Spokane areas. Mr Abener died in 1960. She married Arthur Tate on Feb 15, 1975 in Spokane. At retirement they made their home in Hayden Lake, ID. Survivors include her husband Arthur; son Owen K Abener of Seattle; stepson, Robert Tate of Coeur d’Alene; daughter, Mrs Karen Otto of Spokane; two step-daughters, Mrs Mary Moran of Spokane and Mrs Marjorie Engle of Seattle; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Final interment was in the Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene with Yates Funeral Home of Hayden Lake in charge. (notes from Odessa Record: 1-07-1982)
