Chris T. SCHAAL ,
born in Romania in 1899. The Schaal's immigrated to the U.S. and
settled in Colorado in 1908. The year they came to Washington was
1937, settling at Whitstran, Wa. Later they moved to Wapato. They
retired from farming in 1957 and moved to the city of Yakima. They
attended the Assembly of God Church.
After his retirement he had been helping out with part-time farming
with his nephew, Emil Schaal of Wapato. Chris died on December 14,
1970. He left his wife, Emma, three sons, George and Chester of
Yakima, Alvin of Portland, Ore., three daughters, Eileen of Yakima,
Fern Williams of Goldendale, and Roberta Meeks of Tacoma, and
nephew, Emil. Chris is buried in West Hills Memorial Park at Yakima.
