Albert Knodel - 2005
Albert Knodel, age 81, a resident of
Colorado Springs since 1960, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at the
Pikes Peak Hospice Residence in Colorado Springs. He was retired from the United
States Civil Service as a Plumbing Maintenance Foreman at the United States Air
Force Academy. Albert Lester Knodel was born on October 19, 1924 in Bethune,
Colorado to Jacob and Ida (Stutz) Knodel.
He married Sandra Sue Ereckson on April
8, 1956 in Niwot, Colorado. Sandra passed away in 2001. He is survived by his
loving daughter Rosemary June Brown of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and four
grandchildren: Holly Ann Crissman of Phoenix, Arizona; Cass Edward Brown in the
United States Navy, stationed out of San Diego, California; and Lottie Adelea
Brown and Justin James Brown of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He also has four great
grandchildren. Albert is also survived by a niece, Betty Minor, and one nephew,
Paul Knodel, both of Loveland, Colorado; one nephew, Bob Kern of Longmont,
Colorado, as well as, several great and great-great nieces and nephews; one
brother-in law, Gary Ereckson of Palm Springs, California and one cousin and God
daughter, Michele Tomlin and her family of Placentia, California. He was
preceded in death by two brothers Hubert and William, a sister Elsie Kern, and
son-in-law James Allen Brown.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00
p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2111
Carlton Avenue. Private entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance
Mausoleum, Garden of Angels. Memorials in Albert's memory to the American Lung
Association, 5600 Greenwood Plaza Blvd #100, Greenwood Village, Colorado, 80111.
