Lifelong Kanorado, Kan. resident Truman
Leon Hooker Jr., 69, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at his residence. He was born
June 2, 1938, at Bethune, the son of Truman Leon Sr. and Theresa (Bauer)
Hooker. He graduated from Kanorado High School. On May 31,
1959, he and Janice Tubbs were married at Kanorado United Methodist
Church. He served his country in the United states Army from 1960 through
1963. He was a farmer. His memberships included the Kanorado United
Methodist Church and Kanorado Lions Club.
Preceding him in death were his
parents. Surviving family includes his wife, Janice Hooker of Kanorado;
son Scott Hooker (Karen) of Kanorado; daughter Brenda Hooker (John) of Canbury,
N.J.; daughter Karen Duell (Dan) of Ruleton; two sisters Shirley Hooker of
Clinton, Mo.; Rilla Koehn of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother Phil Hooker (Dixie) of
Max Creek, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
The memorial service was held
Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Kanorado Methodist church, with Pastor
Leonard Cox officiating. Private inurnment will be later. Memorials
may be designated to the grandchildren of Leon Hooker, and may be mailed to
Koons Funeral Home, 211 North Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555
