On Oct. 12,1889, the following four families departed from Russia to come to America: Christian Baltzer, the widow Dorothea Baltzer, Friedrich Stutz, and Andreas Baltzer.  There initial goal was Scotland, S. D., with the intention of settling in Colorado . . . more

Spouse:
Married: 15 Jan 1850
Alt Elft, Bessarabia, So. Russia
Johann BALTZER-99999
B 25 Oct 1825
Luisenhuld, Poland

Some evidence shows that Dorothea Sattler's first husband, John Baltzer (Baldzer)-2778 died before she immigrated to the US.  After she settled in the states she may have married (or was supported by) Jacob Strobel, Sr.-3309.  This helps explain the presents of the gravestone in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery marked as Dorothea Baltzer next to the grave of Jacob Strobel.
