Family sail to America on May 8, 1908. and
settled on a homestead north of Bethune, Colorado. Arrived in
Galveston, Texas.
In Russia, he was a skilled
wagon-maker, but had to sell his tools for passage money for the family.
In 1889 the family moved to the colony of Michaelsfeld near the town of
Anaba, South Russia, near the Black Sea. Here William pursued the
trade of wagon maker, making wagons and selling them at the market
place.
