Edward R. Stahlecker  --  1973

      Funeral services for Edward R. Stahlecker of Seibert were held Monday, Sept. 10, at the Hope Congregational Church, Bethune.  The Rev.  Reuben Isaak officiated at the 1:30 p.m. services.  Mr. Stahlecker passed away Thursday, Sept. 6.
      Song selections, "Haven of Rest" and "Going Down the Valley" were sung by the men's chorus, Accompanied by pianist, Dolores Dobler.  Casket bearers were George Weidman, Robert Stahlecker, Lawrence Gramm,  Elmer Dobler, Edgar Stahlecker and Raymond Schlichenmayer.  Burial was in the church cemetery, north of Bethune.
       Edward Richard Stahlecker was born May 16, 1911, to Isaiah and Marie (ne Stutz) Stahlecker, north of Bethune.  He was baptized and confirmed at the Hope Congregational Church.
      On Sept. 12, 1946, he was united in marriage to Edna Bartman of Burlington.  They farmed in the Seibert community until his death on Sept. 6 at the age of 62 years.
      He was a loving and devoted Christian husband and father and was active in civic organizations and faithful to his church.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother and his daughter, Marlis Jean age 2.
      Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Edna; two daughters, Hazel Marie and Melva Lynn; a son, Denis Edward; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Knodel of Golden and Mrs. Frieda Schlichenmayer of Burlington; three brothers, Julius of Northglenn, Jake of Castleford, Idaho and Ralph of Bethune; many other relatives and a host of friends.
