Bertha R. Castle-2001
Bertha Rosina Castle, 94, of Roundup, passed away on Feb. 5, 2001, at the Roundup Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 17, 1907 to Andreas and Christian Bauder on a farm north of Burlington, Colo., where she grew up and went to a county school. On July 25, 1926, she married Theron Castle in Burlington. Two children were born to them. They lived on farms in Colorado and Nebraska, then moved to Golden, Colo., where they purchased an apartment house and Theron worked as a carpenter at the School of Mines Research Foundation until he retired. Then they moved to Roundup in 1971 to be near their daughter Dorothy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Musselshell Rock and Mineral Club and the Retreads Woman’s club. Bertha loved to garden, sew and bake. She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Gracey of Roundup and one grandson, Rick Williamsom and wife Janice and great-grandson Ross of Tukwila, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Theron; five brothers and five sisters; and her daughter, Donna Bell Williamson in 1970.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Wier Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at the Roundup City Cemetery. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church or the Musselshell Valley Historical Museum or the charity of choice. Wier Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
