Services were held Saturday, Nov. 24 for Mary Quiggle at Spellman-Schimdt Mortuary with Rev. Harold Urton, Pastor of the Wray United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was at the Glendale cemetery at Vernon.
Anna Mary Bauder was born April 18, 1893 and died Nov. 20, 1979 at Cedardale Nursing Home where she had lived the last few years of her life. She was born on a farm near Burlington to Andreas and Christina Bauder, where she grew to womanhood.
During her youth she lived and worked in Burlington, Ft. Morgan, Golden and the Wray and Vernon communities. Some of her fondest memories were the years she spent cooking in John Foreman’s cookshack for the threshing crews. During those years she met Robert T. Quiggle whom she married, October 5, 1926. For many years they lived on a farm near Vernon and later moved to Wray where they built and operated a motel for several years. One daughter, Fern, was born to this union.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, her father, mother and three brothers. Survivors include her daughter, Fern and husband Robert Bull of Illinois, two granddaughters, Gretchen and Lisa Bull and five sisters, Christina Hartl of Golden, Katie Coad of Canon City, Louise Quiggle of Wray, Bertha Castle of Roundup, Mt. And Clara Loyd of Loveland, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
