Regina Krien, 94, longtime area
resident, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center
in Brush.
She was born February 9, 1916 in American Falls, Idaho, to Ernst and Pauline (Reichenberger)
Schritter. Her family moved to St. Francis, Kansas, around 1924. Regina married
Jake Krien on February 23, 1934 in St. Francis, Kansas. They had two children, a
son, Kenneth (Charley) and a daughter, Janice. They moved to Fort Morgan in
1951. Regina was a homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and
spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth
Krien and his wife Shirley of Fort Morgan; grandchildren, Jeni Nab, Karen and
Doug Johnston, Susie and Ron Skinner, Steven Krien, Joni and Lonnie VanMeter,
Brian and Kathy Uhrich, all of Fort Morgan, and Jeanna and Jeff Kelley of
Littleton; 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one brother,
Robert Schritter of Greeley and one sister, Helen of California. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband Jake who died in 1995, one daughter,
Janice Uhrich, two brothers and five sisters. Graveside funeral services will be
held Monday, April 12, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort
Morgan. Internment will follow funeral services. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary and
Crematory in Fort Morgan is in charge of the arrangements. |
