Bob Bauder
-- 2007 Robert “Bob” Eugene Bauder, son of Albert
and Emma Bauder was born on July 20, 1940 in Burlington, Colorado. He was
baptized in the Burlington United Methodist Church a short time after his birth.
Bob was raised in Burlington and attended school in Burlington. At the age of 17
Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served over nine years and was honorably
discharged with a medical disability.
While serving his time in the Navy, Bob obtained his High
School equivalency certificate and completed instruction courses to acquire a
classification of Machinery Repairman First Class. In February of 1966, Albert
and Emma were surprised when their son Bob, was honored by a Captain of the U.S.
Navy for his patriotism, devotion to duty and professional skill. The Captain
stated that his family should be as proud of him as he was to have him in his
command. After his Navy discharge, Bob lived in the Denver area and worked for
the Adolf Coors Brewery as a machinist tool and die maker for a number of years,
before having to leave due to medical problems.
Bob passed away at the age of 66 on June 25, 2007, following a
lengthy illness. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Emma
Bauder, son Robert, a brother Gerald and baby Bauder. He leaves to mourn
his passing, his brothers Arnold from La Mirada, CA; Calvin and his wife Alice
and family of Dallas, Ft. Worth, Texas; a sister Darlene from Largo, Florida;
and Geraldine and her husband Don Carson and family of Burlington, Colorado, as
well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Bob were held on Monday, July 2, 2007 at
10:30 AM at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington with Pastor Ray Wagoner
officiating. Burial with military honors followed in the Fairview Cemetery in
Burlington, Colorado. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 1, 2007 from 6:00 to
8:00 PM at the Funeral Home in Burlington. |
