Ethel Jacober - 1979
Ethel M. Jacober was born Feb. 8,
1906 to Henry E. and Mary (Chandler) Goebel at Burlington, and passed away June
7, 1979 at Spring Village Recovery Center, Colorado Springs. Ethel
attended rural schools north of Burlington, followed by employment in
Burlington. On Feb. 11, 1925 she was united in marriage to Ralph Jacober.
They made their home on a farm north of Burlington for 41 years and moved to
Burlington in 1966. Ralph preceded her in death in 1970. She is survived
by a daughter Helen Young; a son-in-law, Dale Young of Calhan; three grandsons;
Bruce of Manhattan, Kan., Greeg, currently an exchange student in Russia, and
Steve of Calhan. Two sisters, Ruth Bauder and Frances Brenner of
Burlington and a brother, Keith Goebel of Fleming also survive her.
Services were held on June 9 at Hendricks
Chapel in Burlington with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Russell and Stanely Davis, Jerry Davis, Jerry Brenner, Samuel Hendricks and Gene
Dieser. Rev. Jacobson of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiated. |
