Fred Gilbert Stutz, 66, of Aurora, Colo., died April 21, 2002, at the Aurora Medical Center South.  He was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Elizabeth, Colo., to William and Alvina Schlichenmayer Stutz. He attended Denver Public Schools, graduating from South High School in Denver. Fred was a member of the Local Union #9 Operating Engineers. He was self-employed as a trucker and worked in the construction business in the Denver area for several years as well.

He is survived by two sons: Steve and wife Renae Stutz of Elizabeth and Doug and wife Cindy of Littleton, Colo.; two brothers, James and wife Wanda Stutz of Aurora, and Richard and wife Nancy Stutz of Brighton, Colo.; two sisters, Gladys and husband Floyd Garlow of Aurora, and Agnes and husband Jack McCormick of Missouri; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Graveside services were held on April 26 at the Elizabeth Cemetery.
