Martha (Stahlecker) Adolf -2002
Lifelong Kit Carson County resident Martha Sophia Adolf passed
away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington. She was
96 years old. Martha was born July 22, 1906, to John and Marla (Dobler) Stahlecker in Bethune.
She attended a country school north of Bethune through the 8th grade.
On Oct. 25, 1925, Martha married John Adolf in Mosca. To this marriage four
children were born; Rudolph, Ernst, Louise and Esther. Martha was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Bethune and worked as a
homemaker in her own home.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; her brothers Ed
and Martin Stahlecker; one infant sister, Dorthea; her sisters Anna Felt, Mary
Kramer and Theresia Kramer; her daughter-in-law Lois Adolf; and one grandson,
Wesley Adolf.
She is survived by her two sons - Rudolph (Rudy) Adolf of Yuma, and Ernst Adolf
of Canyon City; two daughters - Louise Frohman of Hay Springs, Neb., and Esther
Weisshaar of Burlington; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great-great
grandchildren; two brothers, Andy Stahlecker of Alamosa and Walter Stahlecker of
Colorado Springs; and two sisters Lydia Adolf of Bethune and Dorothy Klein of
Wray.
Services for Mrs. Adolf were Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at Immanuel Lutheran
Church in Bethune. Pastor Wesley Dunbar officiated the services and burial
followed at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials can be made in Martha's name to the Immanuel Lutheran Church and maybe
