Vernon P. Stolz-1984

          Funeral services for Vernon Paul Stolz were held Tuesday, Oct, 23, at 2 p.m., in Granby Mortuary Chapel in Lonita [Lomita], Calif., with Rev. James P. Young officiating. Vernon Paul Stolz was born June 24, 1934, eldest son of Paul Stolz and Anna Stahlecker Stolz. He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Bethune. He attended country school and later high school at Bethune. In 1953 he went to Montana to work. It was there he met Doris Francis, and they were united in marriage Nov. 15, 1953, at the Lutheran Church of Medicine Lake, Mont. To this union, two sons were born, Steve Allen and Dean Paul. Vernon was employed by Petroson [Petrosin] Engineering in Long Beach, Calif., where he served as foreman. He was a member of the Palos Verdes Bowling League and the San Pedro Men’s Bowling League.
          He is survived by his wife, Doris, his two sons, Steve and wife Reba of Lonita [Lomita], and Dean of Harbor City, Calif., two brothers, Phillip and family of Bethune, Ralph and family of Sharon Springs, Kan.; on sister Dian Cox and family of Montrose, two grandsons, Michael and Shaun of Lonita [Lomita], Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents. Vernon passed away on Oct. 16 as the result of an accident.
