Christina Schlichenmayer
-- 1958
Funeral services
were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 15, for Mrs. Christina Schlichenmayer, who
passed away early Thursday morning at her home in Burlington. Rev. A. F.
Boese officiated at the services which were held at the Immanuel Lutheran church
north of Bethune.
Mrs. Christina Schlichenmayer, nee Bauer,
was born Aug. 30, 1898, in Burlington. In early infancy she was received
into the kingdom of God thru the sacrament of holy baptism. At an early
age she confessed her faith in the triune God on the day of confirmation.
In 1917 she was married to Dave Schlichenmayer.
This union was blessed with one daughter, Elsie, now Mrs. Karl Weisshaar, and
one son, James. Her husband passed away in 1956. Seemingly enjoying
good health, she passed away suddenly on Thursday, Dec. 11, reaching the age of
60 years, 3 months and 11 days.
She leaves to mourn her
sudden departure, her two children, one brother, Martin; three half brothers,
Albert, Edward and August; two half sisters, Threasea and Anna; two
step-brothers, Fred and Andrew; two step-sisters, Tillie and Mary, besides a
large number of close relatives and a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
Pall bearers were Vernon
Schlichenmayer, Albert Schlichenmayer, Walter Bauer, Leon Hooker, Robert Koehn
and Verle Billenwillms. Burial was in the church cemetery.
