Linda (Schlichenmayer) Coles-2007
The Burlington Record, Burlington, Colorado Thursday. April 12, 2007

Linda Coles passed away on March 31, 2007 at the hospital in Greeley. Linda Sue was born to R.O. (Sport) and Anna (Weiss) Schlichenmayer at Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington on June 21, 1950. Linda's early life was spent north of Bethune on her family's farm surrounded by her parents, five older siblings and a host of relatives and close family friends. She graduated from Bethune High School in 1967 and attended Pikes Peak Institute of Medical Technology where she trained to be a medical assistant.

Linda married Robert Coles of Stratton on June 14, 1969 and they spent many years living all over the United States and in Germany while Rob was in the Army. They had two daughters, Meriah and Megan. They later moved back to Colorado and lived in Stratton. Linda and Rob eventually divorced but remained lifelong friends. Linda later moved to St. Francis, Kan. where she lived with Jerry Feikert. She became an insurance agent at Leech Insurance Agency. She and Jerry had a wonderful life together riding motorcycles and traveling. The most exciting events of this time in her life was becoming a grandmother to Temple Meloche and Kalen and Kaleb Feikert.

Survivors include her daughter Meriah Meloche and husband Christopher of Boulder; daughter Megan Coles of Richmond, Va.; sister Geraldine Carter of Lometa, Texas, brothers Lee and wife Jacque of Wray, and Dale and Roxanne of Greeley; Blake and Stephanie Feikert of St. Francis, Kan., Brandi and James Wager of Colorado Springs; and three grandchildren Temple, Kalen and Kaleb. Preceding her in death were her parents, Sport and Anna Schlichenmayer, sister Phyllis, brother Ray and Gerald Feikert.

A remembrance service for Linda was held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, north of Bethune with Roger Millheim officiating. Interment followed in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
