Linda (Schlichenmayer) Coles-2007

Linda
Coles passed away on March 31, 2007 at the hospital in Greeley. Linda Sue was
born to R.O. (Sport) and Anna (Weiss) Schlichenmayer at Kit Carson County
Memorial Hospital in Burlington on June 21, 1950. Linda's early life was spent
north of Bethune on her family's farm surrounded by her parents, five older
siblings and a host of relatives and close family friends. She graduated from
Bethune High School in 1967 and attended Pikes Peak Institute of Medical
Technology where she trained to be a medical assistant.
Linda
married Robert Coles of Stratton on June 14, 1969 and they spent many years
living all over the United States and in Germany while Rob was in the Army. They
had two daughters, Meriah and Megan. They later moved back to Colorado and lived
in Stratton. Linda and Rob eventually divorced but remained lifelong friends.
Linda later moved to St. Francis, Kan. where she lived with Jerry Feikert. She
became an insurance agent at Leech Insurance Agency. She and Jerry had a
wonderful life together riding motorcycles and traveling. The most exciting
events of this time in her life was becoming a grandmother to Temple Meloche and
Kalen and Kaleb Feikert.
Survivors
include her daughter Meriah Meloche and husband Christopher of Boulder; daughter
Megan Coles of Richmond, Va.; sister Geraldine Carter of Lometa, Texas, brothers
Lee and wife Jacque of Wray, and Dale and Roxanne of Greeley; Blake and
Stephanie Feikert of St. Francis, Kan., Brandi and James Wager of Colorado
Springs; and three grandchildren Temple, Kalen and Kaleb. Preceding her in death were her parents, Sport and Anna Schlichenmayer, sister
Phyllis, brother Ray and Gerald Feikert.
A
remembrance service for Linda was held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Immanuel
Lutheran Church, north of Bethune with Roger Millheim officiating. Interment
followed in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. |
