Martha Stutz Schlichenmayer -- 1980
Funeral services for Martha Helene Schlichenmayer
were held Saturday, Jan. 5, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hope United Church of Christ
with Rev. Loren Swanson as officiant.
Sandee and Roland Strobel sang "In the Garden", and
"Take My Hand, Precious Lord", accompanied at the organ by Beulah Lambert
and Velda Adolf.
Casket bearers were Ted Schaal, Elmer Dobler, Loyd
Gramm, Edmund Gramm, Tom Dobler and Mervin Corliss. Interment was
at Fairview Cemetery.
Martha Helene Stutz Schlichenmayer was born Jan.
20, 1904, at Yale, Colo., and died Jan. 2, 1980. She was baptized
March 13, 1904, and confirmed April 14, 1918, at the Hope United Church
of Christ. She was the, first organist at the church and was
also a charter member of the ladies' aid and Bible study class.
She was united in marriage to William Schlichenmayer
March 7, 1926.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Roland
and LuAnn Schlichenmayer of Denver and Raymond and Joyce Schlichenmayer
of Littleton; six grandchildren, Sheri Aarestad, Valerie Schlichenmayer,
, Sheila Knight, Randall Schlichenmayer, Shelly Schlichenmayer and Shauna
Schlichenmayer; one great-grandchild Adam Aarestad; two sisters, Lydia
Gramm of Burlington and Minnie Hammelmann of Lincoln, Neb., and one brother,
William Stutz of Denver.
She was preceded in death by her husband William
Dec. 11, 1973. |
