Freda Schaal-1986
Final rites for Freda Christena
Schaal were Friday, Oct. 31, 1986, at 11 a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Bethune with Rev. Michael Greenwalt officiating. The organist was Jean
Weisshaar. Sing was provided by the congregation. Song selections were
"Just As I Am" and "Amazing Grace". Casket bearers were Wilford Adolf, Shane
Fross, David Schlichenmayer, Garven Knodel, Tom Serres and Jr. Weisshaar.
Honorary casket bearers were Elmer Ebeler, Lawrence Gramm, Ted Schaal and James
Schlichenmayer. Burial was in the Immanuel Cemetery in Bethune with
Hendricks Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Freda
Christena Schaal was born Dec. 5 1907, and departed from this life on Oct. 27,
1986. She was born the daughter of Gottlieb and Magdalena Schlichenmayer.
Freda's life of faith was celebrated for her entire life with her brothers and
sisters in Christ at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Bethune, where she was both
baptized and confirmed. She was united in marriage to Fred Schaal at
Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 7, 1931. One child, Edna Fross, was born
to their union. She was preceeded [sic] in death by her
father, Gottlieb, her husband, Fred her son-in-law, Jack Fross, one sister,
Hulda Bauder, and three brothers, Elmer, Bernard and Frederick. Freda is
survived by her daughter Edna Fross of Bethune, two grandchildren, Shane Fross
of Bethune and Susan Weber of Kansas City and one great-grandson, Brandon Joel
Weber of Kansas City. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her mother,
Lena Schlichenmayer, her five brothers, Pete and his wife Jean, George and
Lawrence of Bethune, Rudy of Burlington and Vernon of Chadron, Neb.; along with
many other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory. |
