Herbert Stahlecker -- 2003

     Funeral services for Herbert Edward Stahlecker, 89, were held Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Evansville, Wyo. with Reverend Daniel Holthus conducting. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery.  He died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at his home in Evansville, Wyo.

He was born Dec. 18, 1913, in rural Bethune the son of Friedrich and Jacobine (Weiss) Stahlecker.  He was raised near Bethune, and attended a country school.  He graduated from the California Electronics and Television Institute.   He owned and operated Herb's TV Service for many years.

On Aug. 25, 1940, he married Mary Christina Smith in Burlington.  They moved to Evansville, Wyo. in 1941.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1941, served as Evansville, Wyo. town treasure for several years.  His interests included fishing, bowling, and playing guitar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother of Burlington, 2 daughters and 2 sons.  He is survived by his wife of Evansville, Wyo., daughter Gloria Shofner of Pueblo, 3 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 1 brother of Vallegjo Calif.
