 Christina Gehner Knodel ---  1933

        Mrs. Gottlieb Knodel died Dec. 6, 1933, at her home, north of Bethune, Colo.  Funeral services were held at the Congregational church (Settlement) on Friday afternoon, Dec. 8.  Burial in the cemetery of the church.  Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Maedche.
        She was born October 6, 1867 in Wuettenberg, South Russia, where she grew to young womanhood.  On February 18, 1889 she was united in holy matrimony with Gottlieb Knodel.  Eleven children were born to this union, three having died in infancy.
        In April, 1906, the family came to this country settling down on the farm 11 miles north of Bethune.  She was a member of the Congregational church and a devout Christian.  She loved to sing and could sing many songs by memory.  She always would ask visitors to sing.
        She leaves to mourn, her husband, and eight children:  Mrs. Henry Krug, Edward, Dave, Gottlieb Jr., Mrs. Wm. Schaal, Ben Gust and Mrs. Thomas Holcom.
