One of the most impressive ceremonies to be held for some time was that at the German Congregational church north of Bethune last Sunday afternoon when two of the neighborhood’s most popular young couples were united in the hold bonds of matrimony. Rev. Hamelman pronounced the words that united the lives and fortunes of Dora Schaal and James Knodel and Wm. T. Schaal and Eva Knodel.

The brides wore white satin gowns, with bridal veils and wreaths and carried boquets [sic] of carnations. The grooms were attired in navy blue. Martha Stutz and William Schliechnmeyer [sic] and Ben Knodel were the attendants for Dora Schaal and James Knodel while Wm. T. Schaal and Eva Knodel were attended by Emil Schaal and Pauline Gramm and Edward Knodel and Helen Schaal.

The auto which conveyed the happy brides and grooms was beautifully decorated with flowers and ribbons. After the ceremony all repaired to the home of Gottleib Knodel, father of James and Eva Knodel where a bounteous and elaborate wedding supper was served at 6 o’clock. One hundred and twenty-five guests were present and each and every one extended best wishes to these estimable young people for a long happy and prosperous wedding life.

May their future hold the best that nature has in store is a wish joined by the entire neighborhod [sic].
