New
Pastor: Rev. August F. Boese (Bäz-ee)
Installed Sunday as the new pastor of Immanuel's
Lutheran church in the Settlement was
the Rev. August F. Boese. Rev. Boese comes
here from Harmony, Mich. Rev. Dennis Mueller,
pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church in
Burlington and who has been acting as supply
pastor for Immanuel's, installed Rev. Boese.
Rev, Boese entered the ministry in 1922, after
graduating from the Lutheran Seminary at St.
Paul, Minn. He has been in active service since
that time, being located at Madison, S. D.,
Lakota, Iowa, Waltham, Minn., and Harmony,
Minn., before receiving his call to the
Settlement.
The Boese's have a family of seven children.
One son, Henry, is with the armed services and
is stationed in Illinois; another son, Robert,
is in the Samson Air Force Base hospital at
Geneva N. Y., where he has been confined since
the third of March. He hopes to be moved to a
hospital in Colorado next month. Their third
son, Arnold, is in the teaching
profession at Mable, Minn. Their oldest
daughter, Mrs. Margaret Sikkink, lives near
Harmony, Minn., their second daughter, Mrs.
Ardis Suhrcke, lives in Sheboygan Falls, Wis.,
the third daughter, Mrs. Frances Israel, is in
Greenville, S. C., and their youngest daughter,
Naomi, has been living at home but it leaving
tomorrow for Milwaukee, Wis., where she will
enter nurses training. Rev. and Mrs. Boese are
at home in the new parsonage of the Immanuel
Lutheran church. |
