This photo is of Christian Adolf (RIN 85) feeding ears of corn through a hand-cranked corn sheller, was featured on the cover of a 1919 Nebraska Farmer magazine (full page picture.) About six years later Christian Adolf died. According to oral tradition, his eye sight was diminishing and he was limited to very few famer chores that did not require good vision. Most likely, this photograph was taken the same time as another photo showing him and his wife working in the garden.

In the early 1980's I remember seeing a color
tinted enlargement of this image in an old oval frame in the home of A.W.
and Mary Adolf in Burlington, Colorado (grandson of old Christian Adolf.) If
anyone is aware of who now owns this picture, please contact me.
