Russian Tea Cakes

1 cup soft butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans  
Mix together the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt to make stiff dough. Mix in pecans. Chill dough. Roll into 1" balls. Place on un-greased baking sheet (cookies do not spread). Bake at 400°F for 10-12 minutes or until set, but not brown. While still warm, roll in confectioners' sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again.
