Date Bars II

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 egg (yolks & whites separated)
1 cup sugar
1 cup chopped nuts
1 pound dates, cut fine

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. In a large mixing bowl, beat egg yolks until light and ivory colored. Gradually add sugar, beating thoroughly, then add the dry ingredients.  Stir in nuts and dates.

Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.  Turn mixture into a greased and floured 14 x 10-inch pan. Bake at 350ºF, 20 to 25 minutes.  Cool; cut into bars. Dredge with confectioners sugar.

2 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chopped dates

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. In a large mixing bowl, beat egg with brown sugar and vanilla until creamy. Stir in dry ingredients.  Stir in nuts and dates.

Turn mixture into a greased and floured 14 x 10-inch pan. Bake at 350ºF, 30 minutes.  Cool; cut into bars. Roll in sugar.
