Caramel Corn

8-9 quarts popped popcorn
2 cups mixed nuts or peanuts
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup margarine
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Boil brown sugar, margarine, salt, and white sugar for 5 minutes. Mixing well and stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, add soda and vanilla. Stir in quickly. Pour over nuts and popcorn, mixing well. Put in 2 large flat baking pans and bake in 250°F oven for 1 hour. Stir 2 or 3 times. Store in air tight container.
