Each
family member is asked to bring 1 or 2 small inexpensive gifts.
These gifts should be wrapped, but are
not labeled to reflect a sender or recipient. Some examples of gifts are:
a candy bar, a can of soup, a picture frame, etc. The gifts can be
humorous or useful. All gifts are
gathering in a central location; generally piled in the middle of the
table.
Round 1:
Around the table, two sets of dice are started on opposite ends. Each person rolls the dice in turn going clockwise. Anyone
rolling doubles can select a gift from the pile. After all gifts have been
won from the pile, they are opened. Then in turn, each person shows what gifts they have
won to the
rest of the group.
Round 2:
Setting a timer for 6 minutes, the two sets of dice are
started around the table again. Now, if you roll double, you can
"steal" an already opened gift. This
cycle of "stealing" continues until the 6 minute time is up.
Since items can be "stolen", the item in your possession is not yours until the
game is over (i.e. a food item cannot be eaten until the game is over).
